Call for artists
2nd Semiannual Competition - Cash Prize $ 7.000
Modern Art Community and Mediaplan Publishing is happy to announce the 1st semiannual art competition.
A juried committee will be viewing the works of the artists who will submit their art.
All media are accepted.
Prizes
$7000
(1st Prize $4000, 2nd Prize $2000, 3rd Prize $1000) The jurors will select the Prize winners.
The jurors will also select 30 artists whose work will be presented on this website. Each artist will have his own page that will include an image, caption information and a link to the artist’s website, if available.
All artists retain the copyright of their works.
Deadline
The deadline for submissions is March 30 2012 .
Notification
The winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be contacted by email and a phone call as well, on May 15 2012.
Selecting procedure
Each artist will be judged exclusively by the works he/she has submitted for the competition.
The jurors will be receiving a file of the artist’s work containing the images and details about them (medium, size, etc), so that they will not have access to any personal information about the artist.
The selecting criteria will be exclusively based on artistic competence such as composition, color accuracy, drawing ability, control of medium, etc.
Early submissions are encouraged.
Entry Fee
A $40 entry fee is required and there are no additional fees involved.*

Submitting work
After payment you copy and paste the Receipt ID, or the transaction number ID (in case of wire transfer) in the subject line and send by email the following:
5 images of your work, JPG format, no more than 1MB each.
The files of the works must appear as below:

A small text (word file) with information about the images (medium, size, year, title).
Publicity
Mediaplan Publishing has a large (offline) database which includes 16.400 contacts from 72 countries. Moreover, the company will send a newsletter and press release to over 81.000 subscribers.
The competition will be announced in several art websites and art forums as well.
Eligibility
All visual artists who are above 18 years old can submit their work for the competition.
